Two keyers, two kinds of source

The Video keyer is built for captured or compressed green- and blue-screen footage. The Flat keyer is for synthetic clips rendered over a uniform matte or brand color. Pick the exact key color, then tune similarity (how far a pixel can sit from that color and still count as background), edge softness, and the separate despill pass — set despill to zero to switch it off.

Four outputs, and which one has real alpha

One render returns a VP9-alpha WebM, an animated WebP, a transparent GIF and an MP4 composited on white. The WebM and WebP carry 8-bit alpha; the GIF is 1-bit, so its transparent edges are harder and more aliased; the MP4 has no alpha at all.

What does this video background remover do?
Solid Color keys a selected background color, and AI Remover isolates a visible subject automatically when there is no clean matte to key. Both methods return a VP9-alpha WebM, animated WebP, transparent GIF and an MP4 composited on white.

Which videos work best?
Videos shot against a green or blue screen and videos rendered on a flat solid color are the intended inputs. Use the Video keyer for captured or compressed footage and the Flat keyer for a synthetic solid background.

Which output has real transparency?
The WebM and animated WebP outputs use 8-bit alpha. The GIF has 1-bit alpha, so its transparent pixels have harder, more aliased edges. The MP4 has no alpha and is composited over white.

What are the upload limits?

What do similarity, edge softness and despill change?
Similarity controls how far a pixel can be from the selected key color and still count as background. Edge softness blends the keyed edge. Despill controls the separate color-spill suppression pass, and zero disables it.
